As the UK's largest fully vertical manufacturer of sublimated products, Purple Mustard Ltd supplies a diverse range of custom printed products to a variety of customers across Europe and beyond.
Bedwas based Purple Mustard currently employs over thirty five employees at its 40,000 sq. ft. site and has been a Sedex member since August 2012. On the 18th & 19th November 2015, Purple Mustard demonstrated their commitment to Sedex and underwent a voluntary Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit (SMETA). The detailed audit examines four key areas including; Labour Policies, Health & Safety Performance, Environmental Performance and Business Ethics. The feedback from the stringent audit of the Welsh factory was extremely positive and its findings will now be published on the Sedex website; allowing customers worldwide to carry out due diligence quickly and efficiently online.
The scope of factors that influence global businesses in their procurement decisions extends far beyond the quality and price of a product or service; it increasingly includes the ethical, corporate responsibility and sustainability practices of the business in question too. As such, memberships to associations such as Sedex can open doors to new customers and will inevitably become an important tool for companies looking to grow their business.
Richard Millward, Commercial Director at Purple Mustard Ltd added;
"As a proud Sedex Member, we are delighted with the findings of our recent Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit. The feedback that we received highlights our achievements in relation to the implementation of a number of key processes and procedures; ultimately creating the positive, safe and legally compliant work environment currently enjoyed by our team.
2015 has been a big year for Purple Mustard, having achieved ISO 9001 - 2008 certification in June, and now undertaking the Sedex audit. As a company, we are committed to continuous improvement and the audit findings have also been useful in helping us to identify opportunities for further beneficial changes that we can make as a business. I believe that our ISO 9001 - 2008 and Sedex member status combined with the report findings will serve as useful resources for both existing and prospective customers, giving them the peace of mind that they are working with an ethical and responsible supplier."
